I recently visited emotions that were spread in ways like never before, I pumped out "Comfortable Sofa" and "Unsafe Tunnel". I started not to display them in the "Art" section because of the pieces being so different from my normal visions and in a way wanting to keep them out of the loop... Then I decided that these pieces mark a period in my path, and that they must be taken in as all the other moments..... Go take em' in.....

Friends are extracted from an unimaginably small microcosm. They are microbes that have been enlarged one billion times their original size. They live in your breath and under the part of your brain used for wishing. Lieutenant Captain Lee Karl discovered a world very much like ours. The only difference being that ours is made up of plants, animals, and humans, and this sub-amoebic world contains an unexplored realm of living organisms. The few strains of organisms that survived the
enlargemnet process have been carefully studied and tested. And we have concluded that these new "Friends," have actual life enhancing skills. The friends have magic powers never before seen, and are improving lives one person at a time. Share your wishes and desires with your new friends and watch as everything you ever dreamed of becomes a reality! Welcome friends into your heart and home and start living better TODAY!

ABSOLUT Artini will have nine area restaurants/bars participating by creating “arty” martinis (artinis) to be entered into a competition. For one month , with steady support from print ads and solid promotion of posters, table tents, and postcards, the restaurants/bars will highlight their artinis for patrons to taste and compare. Also, nine local, living artists will each create original artwork in the tradition of the ABSOLUT ads.The artists include: Russell U. Richards, Fleming Cunningham Lunsford, Sharon Shapiro, Charles Peale, Lisa Beane, Monty Montgomery, Michael Fitts, Steve Taylor, Sean Samohey. These will be used for the print campaign and each will become a limited edition postcard quality art “coaster.” The art coasters will be sold at the participating restaurants (one artwork per restaurant) as small art and be used as a raffle ticket to be entered into the drawing for a GRAND PRIZE. The intention is to create an infectious buzz in Charlottesville with people wanting to compare artinis and collect coasters. This promotional period will lead into a hip, edgy ABSOLUT Artini Party on June 23, 2006 from 9pm until 1 am, at the Ix Building Warehouse. The party for 400-500 people will be filled with artinis, food, fabulous décor, amazing entertainment, ground-breaking art and dancing all night to the best music today! At the party, samples of artinis will be offered. A panel of judges will choose their favorite artini and guests will be able to vote on the people’s choice favorite. Afterwards, an ad will announce the artini winners and thank all sponsors for supporting the contemporary arts. No event of this nature has ever been produced in Charlottesville and we feel confident ABSOLUT Artini’s success is certain. For questions and ticket information on the event please contact Second Street Gallery and hit the relevant link....

I had begun hanging my show early downstairs in the Gallery at Starr Hill when he popped in and we crossed artistic paths... We traveled through many of my pieces and in the end, that cool cat picked up 3 paintings for his pad in PA., "What Love", "Core", and "Testimony". It's amazing when you meet someone that musically talented who remains to be very subtle and of few words. Mad respect to you "G". Thanks.

After a few years of writing and listening to what exactly it is that I construct through moments that pass, a while back I submitted, "Endless Journey" to the International Library of Poetry contest. I recieved word recently that the work was selected to be published in a collection of poems from all over the world. The series is titled, "Twlight Musings". Here's a brief statement attached with "Endless Journey" in the publication...

"From an early age I understood that my "Endless Journey" was just beginning. During my childhood and adolescence, I developed my toolbox through color and shape. This passion to create later became a desire to use words that visually represent my innermost feelings and thoughts. "Endless Journey" marks a period of growth in my life as an artist and person. I truly wanted to create a passage that gives others the freedom to investigate their own untraveled path".
-Monty Montgomery

The Nude art exhibition brought a little flavor to your eyes and offered diverse visuals of human nature for you to absorb. I had four pieces in this show and look forward to working with Amanda Robinson and all associated with this event and beyond.... Little Howlin Wolf kicked the sounds off and sounded awesome..... Please stop in and check out the spot...... The gallery is located at 200 West Marshall Street. There are a few pics fromthe evening in the "snapshots" section.... Gallery5 provides an opportunity to exhibit an impressive array of works, with the space to accomodate over 50 artists in one showing. This magnificant space showcases a different world of art, a place with an ever-changing soundtrack. Gallery5 encompasses what so many Richmond artists are looking for. "It is truly different: the art, the music, the whole feel." Gallery 5 showcases the underground art of Richmond and the risqué work that intimidates. We want the dirty, the witty, the ever-changing, the respected, the disrespected, the opinionated, the diverse, the unwilling, the unintentional, and the beautiful work of Richmond.
